Stones report Watts not leaving the band
Rumors have been swirling aroung the Rolling Stones. First, that the band is touring in 2012. And second, that drummer, Charlie Watts, would not be with them, having left the band.
This news bit emerged on an Australian news site over the weekend, but has been denied, on both fronts, by reps for The Stones. According to NME, a representative for the band stated, “Contrary to a fabricated and ill-informed report that appeared yesterday on a small music website in Australia, we would like to make it clear that drummer Charlie Watts has not left The Rolling Stones.”
Let’s recap: the good news is Charlie Watts is still a Rolling Stone. The bad news is that there is no confirmation on a tour in 2012 or earlier. Sorry, fans! But we can still keep our fingers crossed that Rolling Stones tickets may be in our future sooner than we think.
